Short version: Some retailer links may be affiliate links where FitAppliance is approved by the relevant retailer or affiliate network. This never affects which products appear in search results — all rankings are based solely on dimensional fit, verified clearance data, and retailer availability. We disclose commercial links near the point of click.
What is affiliate marketing?
When you click a retailer link on FitAppliance and complete a purchase at the retailer's website, FitAppliance may receive a small percentage of the sale value as a commission if that retailer programme has approved us. This is called affiliate marketing. The price you pay should be identical whether you arrived via our link or navigated directly to the retailer — any commission is paid by the retailer or affiliate network, not by you.
Retailer affiliate programmes we may use
Some retailer links may be affiliate links where FitAppliance is approved by the relevant retailer or network. These programme details are shown as public programme information and are not a claim that every listed programme is currently active for FitAppliance. Terms, commission rates, cookie windows, exclusions, and approval status can change without notice.

How commission affects our content
Search results
Products appear in search results only if they fit your entered cavity dimensions, after each brand's ventilation clearances are subtracted. Commission rates do not influence which products appear, their position in results, or their star ratings. A product from a retailer paying 0% commission will appear if it fits your space.
Sponsored placements
Some results are labelled "Sponsored". These are paid placements at fixed positions (typically positions 2 and 5 in the results list). Sponsored products still meet your dimensional requirements — we do not show sponsored products that don't fit your space. The "Sponsored" label is always clearly visible.
Sorting and rankings
Our default sort order is Price (Low to High). Alternative sorts include Best Energy Rating, Lowest 10-Year Running Cost, and Largest Fit. None of these algorithms incorporate commission rates as a factor. This is a firm editorial policy to comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and ACCC guidelines on misleading rankings.
Brand exclusions
Premium brands such as Miele and Asko are excluded from certain retailer affiliate programmes (0% commission). We still display these products in search results where data is available, clearly noting which retailer links are non-commissionable. We do not hide non-commissionable products.
How to identify affiliate links
Every outbound link to a retailer on this site:
- Is labelled with the retailer name and price
- Is accompanied by the text "We earn a commission if you purchase via this link"
- Uses the HTML attribute
rel="noopener sponsored"as required by Google's webmaster guidelines
Australian Consumer Law (ACL) compliance
FitAppliance operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, administered by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). We are aware of the ACCC's Digital Platforms Inquiry and guidelines on comparison websites and affiliate disclosures. Specifically:
- Affiliate disclosures are prominent and proximate to purchase links — not buried in page footers
- Rankings are objectively determined and not influenced by commercial relationships
- We do not make false or misleading statements about products or prices
- We maintain accurate dimensional data sourced from OEM installation manuals
Installation referrals
FitAppliance may refer users to licensed installers (plumbers and electricians) for appliance installation services. We receive a referral fee for qualified leads. This is disclosed at the point of referral. Installation referrals are offered as an optional convenience — they are not required to purchase any product featured on this site.
